This late night rain on earth
Persisted like the angel of death
Deprived my soul of a warm breath
Still not forgetting to wet my starched shirt.
The darkness became thicker
With the weather making me shiver
My candle never stopped to flicker
With my blue sweater on, I still quiver.
I feel so lonely
Night like this can make one unholy
My heart raced to God like a trolley
Which prevented me from acting folly.
I don't have memories of a night like this
Those with me were one with creamy teas
Made for me by my uncle after his tease
Calling me a bad cook as we passed the trees.
Nothing last for long
I remembered him to be strong
Always advising me when I do wrong
He is gone but my heart remember his song.
I feel nothing again
The loud sound that filled my ear was of a train
What is visible is a plantation of grain
Dream! The reasonable answer to this is plain.
The crow of the cock woke me
Rays of the sun is what I see
A new dawn present itself as I pee
Whispering that the best day is ahead if I agree.
